My Doctor Said Electrolytes. Then I Read the Labels. 7 Things to Know Before You Pick One.
Pregnant, postpartum, or nursing, the advice is the same word. The packets are not. I flipped the first one over and found stevia leaf extract four lines down. Talk with your doctor or midwife before adding anything, including this.
💧 Water that stays
1
"Electrolytes" was the other half of "drink more water"
🔍 Read the back
2
The front of the packet isn't for reading
The word "hydration" on the front is marketing. The back is where the truth lives. Flip a "pregnancy-safe" packet over and count down four or five lines: that's usually where stevia leaf extract or monk fruit is sitting, quiet, past the part most people stop reading. If a sweetener is the reason a product tastes candy-sweet while pregnant, it's worth knowing it's in there before the first glass, not after.
🍓 Fruit, not flavors
3
"Natural flavors" is where the rest hides
🥥 Sugar that works
4
A little real sugar is doing a job
"Zero sugar" sounds like the clean choice. But the small amount of natural sugar in coconut water is part of how the minerals actually move into you. It's not a compromise the label snuck past you. It's physiology. A few grams of real sugar is what helps sodium and potassium get where they're going, which is the whole point of drinking the thing. Sweetener-free and sugar-free are not the same promise.

Meet Mineral Mist
I built Mineral Mist because I couldn't find what I needed.
Four ingredients: organic coconut water, Australian sea salt, magnesium from Great Salt Lake concentrate, and real freeze-dried fruit. No stevia, no monk fruit, no maltodextrin, no dyes, no "natural flavors." The certificates of analysis are posted for every flavor, so you can check the label instead of trusting it.
It tastes salty first and barely sweet because that's what four real ingredients naturally taste like. I drank it through nursing my twins.
We started because I couldn't find one electrolyte I'd hand my own kids. Safe for the family from 12 months up. If you're pregnant or nursing, talk with your doctor or midwife before adding anything, including this.
Give it thirty days
What do Mineral Mist customers say?
Each of these answers one question I get before the first glass: the salt, the safety paperwork, the taste when you're queasy, whether it does anything, nursing thirst, and the weeks after. In their own words, whole. These are individual experiences and results vary. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Questions moms ask before the first glass
The questions I get most from pregnant and nursing readers: is it really safe, why is it salty, why does the fruit settle, and can my toddler have it too? Straight answers below. And always, talk with your doctor or midwife before adding anything, including this.
